Are the ebay chips Roger Linn's, or possibly bootlegs? Nobody sells these chips besides Roger, I'd be wary if you don't know for sure. And yeah, 3.10 makes a huge difference. Check the manual at Roger's site...

Well, the auction clearly states the chips are used, not really anything strange with that... I'd place a bid if I didn't already have them, it's not really that common to see anybody sell them used at all

Are they really used though?? Who would pull the chips from a 60 if they upgraded it? If I was selling bootlegs, I'd say they are used too. Not saying that they are for sure, but I'd try and find out if I were you. The chips normally ship with disks, and for many years came with the 3.10 manual. If there were pictures it'd be a lot easier to tell for sure.

Well, if he had an extra set, they'd be in the Linn packaging with discs and manual no? These chips are not that hard to copy if you know what you're doing and I've seen them pop up as bootlegs several times on the bay. Almost always from international sources, that's the only reason I bring it up. I'm not the rom police, so you don't have to convince me, just sounds a little fishy...

Bottom line is, they aren't that expensive from Roger in the first place, and its always cool to have an excuse to send him dough!

thanks a lot for all your opinions!
i checked out all the new features on the manual, sounds interesting..
i think i´ll give it a bid! i asked the seller, he also bought the chips on ebay
3 years ago.. if it is a bootleg, is there any problem with functionality?

You can never say if a bootleg will work right or not, how should I know? Buying them from someone other than Roger is a risk. If you feel the risk is worth the money you're saving, I say go for it!
