UK MPC 3000 Repair

Anyone have some suggestions as to where I could have my MPC 3000 repaired within the UK (or Europe, if not)..?

The main outputs are crackling

...I don't want to use Cimple Solutions as they have let me down in the past.

might just be some oxid build up in the output jacks ...have you tried contact spray ? usually helps

Otherwise i'm sure any electronics repair shop could help you replace the output jacks. Don't think you need any special mpc knowledge to do that, just the ability to do some quality soldering.

The outputs crackle when I adjust the main output volume. Would this suggest something has blown inside rather than it being an issue with the output connections?

with 99% certentity i would say you have some oxid build up on the main volume knob, it happens to all older equipment. Get some contact spray, take of the volume knob, spray on abit on the knob-shaft, turn it around a couple of time, put the knob back on, problem solved. That solved the problem with my 60, and alot of other machines.

It does sound like it could be bad contacts in the volume pot. Before spraying it with anything, just turn it from 0-full many times. No joke... a lot of time it is bit's of dirt that have found their way between the contacts and by turning it many times(50-100) really can fix the problem without using any spray and maintaining a solid feel to the pot. I haven't found a cleaner yet that doesn't give the pot a loose, cheap feeling. If you need to use a cleaner I prefer 'deoxit'.

Seems to of done the trick. No contact spray used, just turned the knob from 0 to max about 100 times. Thanks skylab001 and mikael__
