loose data wheel

so i got my 60ii yesturday and its the illest shit since sliced bread. love the machine. anyhow today is day 2 of use and my data wheel has come loose. iv never taken apart one of these machines and was curious if anyone has pictures of how to disassemble a 60ii? and a diagnosis and fix for the data wheel. is it a screw that holds the knob in place? thanks

thats right. When it comes to drum machines there is no comparison. Dude I need a better picture of the potentiometer and the knob. Remember the knob is the part you took of. The pot of the potentiometer is where the knob slides into.

ok iv found the issue for the potentiometer. the hex nut has come loose and that will need to be tightened. i assume that will tighten the house to the mpc caseing. i hope it also tightens the pot itself. and sorry rtech cameraless currently.

update. tightened the hex nut around the potentiometer and its back to normal however iv noticed the pot has play. it moves up and down. i check the other pots ( volume and contrast) and neither of those pots has up and down movement. is it normal that the pot for the data wheel has up and down play?

yes, this potentiometer is different since it is a data wheel (Encoder) which detects clockwise and counter clockwise movement. I just checked my MPC60 MKI and also the control knob on my S950 and both have some up and down play. Is it working properly as far as changing the settings within the Menus?

its normal, they're so old by now that most are loose..hard to source as well, so get used to it! haha
