The drive on my MPC does everything but format disc. Anyone know whats goin on wit dat?

Nah, There your standard 3.5 DD floppy disc.

It's a route 66 drive. I think the jumpers where messed with when I got it. But I'm not shure. Or maybe the person ordered the wronge drive for it not payin attention, cause thought it was a scuzzy; go figure.
But, why would a drive save and load data, but not recognize a disc to format it. I have been formating the disc in my pc, and that works fine. But the MPC should be able to do it on it's own. It also resets it's self from time to time, when I insert and disc in the drive or try to save or load. Losing all the data that I have been working on. Maybe it's something with the MPC, but the problem only occurs when I'm using the drive.

could be the 5 volt line going to the floppy is flaky.
As a start I would get a pack of fuses from Radioshack 3 Amp, 5 x 20mm Fast acting and replace the fuse on the 5 volt line of the 60. You will know which fuse it is because it is a 3.15 Amp fuse, but these work as replacements on my machine, I think it is fuse two, but check that the fuse is the 3.15 amp one, there is only one on the 60. Fuses are well designed weak links, but sometimes they **** up and screw with the data.
