On my MPC 60 I can monitor thru samples while my sequence is playing. So i can have a beat I programmed playing and listen to samples off vinyl over it with the turntable plugged into the sample in.

I was using my boys MPC 3000 last nite. I thought, if the 60 can do this, then so can the 3000. With the 3000 i could only hear the sample coming thru when i was in the sample screen. When i went to the main sequence screen i couldn't listen to vinyl over top of my sequence playing.

Does the 3000 not do that or is their a setting I missing?

Wuts Good Man! I know its crazy, but to my knowledge it can't. I always found that weird t0o. Its one of the great features of the 60, but its not available on the 3000.

sv

what's good cuzn?

i know right... that's what i was thinking last nite. i'm like, why would they leave that out on the 3000 and the 2000/2000XL

i wonder if you can monitor thru on the 4000? i know the 2500 has a monitor thru button on it.

it's such a great feature when you just want to bang out some drums and then see what samples work with it.

i guess you just gotta use a mixer with the 3000.

2k/2kl can't do that either. That's a SUPER useful feature though.

Yea it can serve multiple uses to, besides hearing what you want to sample. You can hook up a synth, sampler, or sound module and sequence it without needing an external mixer. Definitly a dope feature

The 4000 can do it.

I make a quick 4 bar drum beat.

then I go to record screen while the sequence it still playing and i can listen to my vinyl while the seq is playing.

very very useful.

Nice.

I heard the 4000 can go into the sample screen while the sequence is playing. Can it also record a sample while the sequence is playing?

That would be the ultimate feature. Then you could play synths, live bass, live guitar or samples and record them in time with your sequence.

If it can, I think it's time for me to get a 4000!!!

that's what i been wanting to do, so i dont have to midi the asr-10 or ableton live to the mpc

that way i could keep everything in the mpc.

i need a 4000!!!!

next mpc on deck

I love that feature.

I used to make all my beats like that when I was messing with the ASR

make a beat with a sample and drums then grab the bass guitar and play a bassline over the beat and sample just the bassline as I was playing it to the programmed beat, I love that shit, it keeps the feeling going.

I use the 3000 now and that is really the only feature i truely miss on the ASR10, I have always wished that the 3000 could have that function.
