Sample Hitting Same Pad

Hello,

I'll get right to the point...

I have a sample (let's say a flute sample) in the MPC3000 and it's assigned to Pad 1 (SIDE STICK)

Now I would like to add say a Crash drum sound from Logic

So I go ahead and but uh oh... wait... that Crash sound just happen to also be assigned to Pad 1 (yes I am triggering from the MPC3000 pads)

Yes the same Pad 1 that has the flute sample in it

Now when I am hitting that Pad, I hear BOTH samples playing

Yes I already went to PROGRAM/SOUNDS > #1 > Sounds: OFF

While that works and I can hit Pad 1 just for the Crash sound alone (without hearing the flute sample)

I go hit Play button to listen but now where is my flute sample?

Oh yeah, it's currently OFF

So I go back to PROGRAM/SOUNDS > #1 > Sounds : Flute Sample

Now I go hit that Play button and what do I hear? BOTH Crash sound and flute sample at the sametime

what am I doing wrong?

and please don't say something like... "well, just assign your flute sample or Crash drum sound to another pad"

Well what happened if ALL my Pads and Banks (A, B, C, D) were full?
