MPC60II Randomly Rebooting

Hi All,

Im new to the forums here, I have just purchased a 2000XL and a friend of mine has just purchased an MPC60II. We live in Australia so our power runs at 230V 50Hz.

My 2KXL is running like a dream as it has the switchable power supply but the 60 seems to be doing some odd stuff.

The 60 is a 120V US model, we are using a stepdown transformer so that we can run it on the AU power supply. This is the transformer we are using: http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID ... rm=KEYWORD

The problem is that after a few minutes (or even a few seconds) the 60 will just reboot and start reloading the samples of the floppy.

Do any of you guys knwo what might be causing this? Thanks in advance!

sounds to me like a power sag.

maybe get a better quality step down / cycle converter for the 60? also, I know I heard somewhere there were people having the internal power supply switched out for the proper ones because they were ordering from japan and they lived in europe. O.o ... maybe you could look into that also.

Hey man, cheers for the reply. I think your are right, ill have a look around for a different step-down transformer. Ill also search for some threads on swapping out the MPC internal transformer to a 230V model. It might be a better option.
