hi,
i have a problem with my MPC 3000.
it often hangs up when I launch it.
i just can see the main screen, and there is no reaction when i press any button.
is there anyboy who had a problem like this, too? or anybody who can help me?

thanks

yes, everything seems to be ok. all cables are checked.
at first i think it launches nomally, but when i push a button there comes no reply from the MPC.
is there any other reason why this problem could come up?

is it when the MPC is still displaying the message "Searching for SCSi ... " or with the main sequence screen displayed ?

if there is random LED activity its most likely a loose ribbon cable..

it could be trying to autoload some scsi device...

once its done hanging can you work, or do you have to try to reboot?

i launch the mpc, then there is the starting screen. the message "searching scsi for hard drive" comes up, but when i press cancle, there is no reply.
then it switches to the main screen. the cursor is at the "pgm" position, is flashing very fast and can't be moved. no matter which button i push, there is happening nothing.
the only option i have, is to reboot.
after reboot happens the same.
i have checked all the cables, i can check without dissambling the mpc in all components.

Sounds like the F901 fuse on the SCSI board is blown -- this can happen when hotswapping SCSI devices while the MPC 3000 is on.

It's an inexpensive fix providing you can do the disassembly and soldering yourself.
