Hey,
Anyone who uses an external hard drive with their MPC3000 might have some advice for this post.
I recently found a LACIE external hard drive enclosure and Jazz drive enclosure. Both units are fastened together but they both work as completely seperate units.
For some reason my MPC 3000 does not recognize that a SCSI device is attached when I attempt to make my 'scsi' drive active using either of the LACIE units. I have tried to change the port/connection from 'AUTO' to each of the individual numbers given. Despite the various combinations, for some reason my MPC 3000 does not find the device/devices and is unable to make them active.
It is also worth noting that the back of both of the external devices have the number '2' selected - I am unable to change the selection. Whenever I attempt to make the 'SCSI' active using this port, the MPC 3000 will not even search for the device. I feel as though this number '2' is the 'scsi' port or whatever. Whenever I use my iomega external zip 100 I have it set on '6'. I am unsure how to set my lacie external device/devices at '6'.
I hope I have been able to describe my issue correctly and I appreciate any advice. Let me know if there is something else that I might be overlooking when it comes to working with external hard drives.
