If I had 1 wish for the MPC 3000....

I have the MPC 3000 and I really love everything about it!! I tried switching to software numerous times but I always switch back to the 3000 because of the sound and the sequencer... I just cant sequence in software with the timing correction off and make it sound the way I like it... I can rock the 3000 with the timing off on every track and make it all sound on beat... For some strange reason, call me crazy, but I feel like Im cheating if I use timing correction for any of my drum sounds... If I cant get the drums to sound right with the timing off I will just scratch the beat.... If I had 1 wish for the 3000 though, I wish it had the ability to have each pad cut each other off without having to set it manually... its such a pain in the ass to do it this way... I always just set all the pads to note off and play the samples that way... I usually have at least 2 banks of sample chops and its pretty much impossible to set the note cutoff for all the right pads... If you had 1 wish for the MPC 3000 what would it be?

I wish it had 16 individual outs.

8 is enough for me.. I only use the outputs to take the bottom end out of my sample if its clashing with my bassline....

well I dont own a 3k which sucks... however I couldn't think of anything else.

32 pads is a neat idea. I have an old mpd connected to what ever machine I'm working on (ie:mv8000) to get those extra 16 pads because after testing it out I wound up liking the extra work space.

same... I have a korg padkontrol at the ready... nothing more fun than playing samples while tapping drums on a full padbank.... midi up to the SP-12turbo, and I have a 12 bit mpc!

even better is the fact that you can hit full level button on the Korg, so when you tap nicely, its a full volume hit... ssssoooooooo oooo oooo ooohhh much better than working with those plastic buttons.

i agree. having mute groups would be great!

also, being able to go into the sample trim screen with the sequence playing, like you can with the asr-10 would be great too.

and being able to monitor your samples coming in while the sequence is playing, like you can on the 60 would be great too.

Very nice! I've heard about this. I was always hesitant about getting it because it's 3rd party and i though it might mess with the Akai OS swing, feel, etc...

How does it compare to the swing, feel, workflow, etc... of the Akai OS? it def sounds like it has some very useful features. Just being able to trim while the seq is playing and having an option to stop samples from playing out when you stop the seq is BIG!

How easy is it the open the 3000 and install it?

yeah dont you have to swap out the flash rom on the MB? I know the newer linn os for the 60 was like that.
