Damaged Data

I have an mpc 3000 that has an internal zip drive. Lately when I try to load my samples back in from zip disks I get an error "sorry this file or possibly the entire contains damaged data." I'm trying to figure out if this is a problem with the zip disks, a particular sample data file, or the internal zip drive itself. Anybody have any ideas?

How long have you been using that disk?

Which OS is your MPC3000 installed with ?

Note. If your MPC3000 is installed with the Vailixi operating system then there is a work around for accessing failing ZIP disks.

Setting the MULTI SECTOR TRANSFER mode to OFF in Vailixi allows successful reading of the troubled ZIP disk in a lot of cases.

It might be problem with your interal zip drive. I've had the same problem involving 'damaged data'. I am using an external scsi ZIP. My problem of 'damaged data' when opening up specific files was fixed when I switched to a new/different external scsi drive.

There might be something wrong with your internal zip drive. If you have, try an external (iomega or whatever) ZIP and see if your once 'damaged data' files work. If they do, then you know it might have been a problem with the drive.
