General Cleaning Solutions

I'm looking for first hand recommendations on what solutions work well for bringing out the natural luster of the rubber based armrest, side panels, and faceplate.

I ended up reaching out to Mr. Bruce Forat for advice on maintaining the chassis, armrest, and sides. He recommended a light application of Windex. Spray the Windex on to a clean lint-free cloth and wipe gently. He said avoid any oil based solutions. Be careful with the paint as well, as it's cheap.

What should I clean the pad sensors with? Im replacing my pads and puttin on the pad corx soon and I want to clean my pad sensors as well. Should I just wipe it with a micro fiber cloth or use some kind of cleaning solution also?

You can wipe down the pad sensors with isopropyl alcohol. Don't use it on the actual pads as it will dry out the rubber. You can use windex on those.

would it be bad to just wipe the sensors with just a little windex or warm water? I dont think I have any isopropyl alcohol? I dont even know what it is lol. Is it just rubbing alcohol?

Yes, isopropyl alcohol is also known as rubbing alcohol.

Just a quick update:

The Windex and micro-fiber combination worked out great. The LE is shinning now. Any and all oily residues left by sweaty palms, unclean finger tips and so on was removed with ease. I'd recommend diluting the Windex with a 50/50 water-to-Windex mix though, as using the Windex straight leaves a slightly sticky after touch.

I went to Walgreens and jacked a couple Isopropyl alcohol swabs out of the box.. I used them to wipe down the pad sensors and it worked great... I also put in new pads and the pad corx and it really makes a HUGE difference.. I can hit full velocity with EASE!! I should of done this a long time ago!!

Just got my MPC 3000L. yesterday of eBay
it def needs some cleaning - the sidepanels, armrest,
faceplate, rubber pads ... maybe also good idea to open it up
and clean possible dust out....

what cleaning liquids to use on wat and or dry air?
What would be the European equivalent of Windex
or rubbing alcohol ( I am in France ... where everything has
a different name ...?
have no clue what to get in the local French shops ... ?
any tips, ideas?

Just go to your pharmacy and ask for Isopropyl alcohol

Thanks for the tip , witch parts are suitable to clean
with this alcohol --- the pads?

What about Windex than - do I still need it-
isn't it just a window glass cleaner?
or does it have to b a particulare
glass cleaner?

finally took the pads and sensors off
the MPC3000LE and they looked very clean...

cleaned them anyway , put back together
But it didn't help my " double triggered samples"
problem

what else could cause that?
