Changing backlight: MPC 60, how?

Is it hard? I know how to solder and have taken apart a few things before.

Any step by step instructions online or tips and also anything heads up on any difficult steps I might encounter and that requires a little trick or two?

Just making sure I won't accidentally break anything in the process...

I didn't get one myself yet, but grublet posted the link to a dude who is selling on ebay.... backlights that dont even require soldering. from my understanding you just pop it in and connect a connector and job done.

this thread was posted like 2 or 3 days ago... search for backlight no solder

I read and asked people that sell that "non solder required" backlight with the plug, and it's only for the 60ii & 3000... it doesn't work/fit on the first original 60i/asq10... no matter though... that awesome vid looks really easy to do and soldering isn't really a big deal for me anyways.

I used one of those backlights from midi-rakete on my 60 MK1 earlier this year, really good. Highly recommended.

Hey Fooddude - The replacement is easy but watch out when reconnecting the ribbon cable between the display and the mainboard. I tried the replacement and managed to put the cable one pin along from where it should be and blew one of the power transistors in the PSU and the display controller chip. Luckily both parts were available from an Ebay seller, but I was MPCless for a few months there as my tech was busy with other stuff.

My backlight came from an Ebay seller who normally does the 60ii and 3000 backlights.He made me a backlight to fit my 60 after I sent him my knackered one.
I'll see if I still have his contact details and get back to you.

It's the Ebay seller Saint_Baz who truskullbeatz links to in his posts that made my 60 backlight. lol, how'd I miss that
