Hey

Does anyone know what other parts need to be changed to fit a TRANS POW L4012 E,V,B,S to a MPC3000 that originally has a TRANS POW L4003 C,A

all help greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on obtaining a real life 240V AKAI mains transformer for the MPC3000.

I suggest getting an electrician or technician to help you with this task.

Death to MPC or self is highly possible if the procedure is carried out incorrectly.

no such luck in getting one yet.from what i have read on the forums Forat Music can modd it to work here in OZ,just waiting to hear back from them and Electric Factory here in OZ.

Electric Factory copped a spray on this very forum from another list member over a repair.

As I am down under in this very country then maybe consider contacting me.

Its possible I could be of assistance.

Depending on where in OZ you are then there is also a good chance I know other techs who are capable of providing a solution.

Thanks for the info on electric factory i wont be letting them touch my MPC3000.i am at Tweed Heads area North Coast New South Wales.your help is greatly appreciated,i would prefer to run on 240 volt instead of using a stepdown transformer.I am very interested in your Vailixi 3.50 OS its on my list of upgrades i just purchased a internal CF card kit from SCSIforSamplers.com and want to get my mpc3000 running on 240 volt before i install it.

Hi to everyone,

I just joined the list because I have an old s2800 with a transpow L3000 CA, and can not find a L3000 EVBS to replace it with in order for it to run on 240V downunder.

I use an Akai S6000 which is really cool, but I remember the S2800 is a bit more gritty which I thought would be perfect for my latest tracks.

So I thought I'd throw a question at you.

I found a MPC60 service manual that uses the same transformer, and I noticed that it had labels on the secondaries of the transformer, being 14V - GND - 14V and 7V - 7V.

So I thought I could use 2 toroidal transformers stacked inside the case, one with a 15V - 0 - 15V secondary and another with a 7.5V - 7.5V sec.

Would anyone know what the VA rating would need to be for those transformers? Looking at my PS circuit board there is a 650mA, a 860mA and a 1.35A fuse. Is the higher amperage for the lower voltage (5V ps) or for the 12V dual rail one?

Or, would anyone have an S2800 or s3000 service manual that might give some idea as to the power requirements of the sampler? Or does anyone just know and is a guru so doesn't even need the manual?

Otherwise has anyone ever done this mod and would like to share?

I look forward to hearing back and happy sampling to everyone.

I'd be happy to post back the results of the mod once I get it working.
