Hi.

Used a 2000 for about 7 years, finally got the 3000 yesterday [which is what I always wanted anyway].

Plugged my scsi zip into it, expecting it to see it but no such luck :-(

Went to the manual and followed the instructions but the MPC says 'no scsi device found' when I get it to search for it.

Am I missing something or is my SCSI port screwed?

Thanks!

did you connect them with the power off on both? did you turn on the zip first? was there a disk in th drive? can you format the zip? the mpc won't recognise a zip until it is formatted, confusing I know, but it must be done.

got it sorted out shortly after I posted.

The guy who owned it before me had shortened the wait time for scsi disks to 0 seconds. I extended the time and it now sees my zip drive after about 6 seconds or so, once it spins up.

Formatted the disk, surprised at how long that took!

Anwyay, haven't had a chance to start using it yet as other stuff has gotten in the way.

Will be getting heavily into it this week though as I prepare for a live show in July.

Thanks!
