I replaced the backlight with the presoldered kind from Matt. Was very carefull. Nothing was touched outside of changing the backlight. Backlight looks great. OS 3.50 boots up fine but a lot of the buttons are lit up. Different ones each time I turn on the Mpc. Ive checked over everything and it all looks fine. Its not working correctly now. What could cause this?

Ive reset the memory and init param. Still various LEDs staying lit up. All ribbons and caps look fine. Ive already replaced the memory, installed card reader and new OS and have had no problems. Backlight took a few mins and nothing was touched outside of that. Im stumped. Any thought?

Ill recheck the ribbon again, but they all seem firmly connected. What does a regulator look like? Similar to a capacitor? Ill try what is mentioned in this thread:

Though Im not sure how it ever turned out for that guy.

**EDIT**

Sent my roomate pics that Rohan posted in that thread. He reseated the main ribbon and MPC is fine now. First he told me the MPC was smoking as a joke though. :? All I can figure is that after replacing the backlight and reziptieing the cables I must have made it too tight, so when the lid is opened it pulls on the ribbon. It seemed to be in seated correctly when I check but I guess not. Thanks for the help.
