Buying a SCSI drive for a 3000

I'm buying a SCSI drive for a MPC 3000 and I just got this message from the store:

I did a little research into the MPC 3000 SCSI. I don't think the 36GB hard drive will work for you at all. Its a new SCSI-Ultra hard drive and won't be compatible with the MPC 3000. You need a SCSI-1 or SCSI-2 hard drive. I have a quiet 4GB 50-pin SCSI-2 hard drive that I can put in the case for you instead of the 36GB HD. I think the MPC 3000 is only able to read/write to 780MB or 1GB of a HD. The MPC 3000 would format and use only 1GB of the 4GB, and ignore the rest. I'm pretty sure it will be compatible with the MPC 3000. If its not, you can return it for a refund minus the shipping cost.
You have to format the HD from the MPC 3000.

Won't work easily.

The 36GB drive would require a lot of futzing about with SCSI type adapters and such.

In the event that it could be made to work; a high percentage of it storage space will not be used.

The seller is mostly correct:

The 4 GB drive above is the safest option.

The MPC3000 in STANDARD FORMAT mode will make usable about 780 MEGABYTE.

The MPC3000 in Vailixi Hybrid Partition mode will make usable about 832 MEGABYTE.

The 4 GB drive should work fine.

Seller seems reasonable with their return policy too.
