Crackles and pops and double triggers on MPC60

Hi guys,

I have just bought an MPC60. Been waiting a long time and am very pleased to finally have it.

As im brand new to MPCs ill leave sequencing for another day. Im literally trying to sample, and play live from the pads here at this point in time.

So I do just that. I sample and then trigger from front pads.

Around every 10 times I hit a pad I get a treble stutter IE the hats/snares or whatever sounds three times very fast but noticeable.

Also I have a bassy 808 kick sampled. There is alot of crackling and popoing going on. Again say one press every ten has a crackle.

Just wondering, is this normal or simple to fix. Any advice appreciated.

Pad sensors might be shot after twenty odd years of use.

Check the connection from the volume control knob to the main audio board. The wires may be loose.
