How can I transfer my MPC60 samples on my computer?

Hi,

I have a MPC60 and love it since longtime, but i'd like to use my mpc60 samples on my laptop
with Maschine, in order to move easier on stage for a project.
I use ZIP100mo on my 60 and I thought I could put my ZIP100mo disks in a 250 mo USB ZIP driver, plug it on my laptop, and transfer.... Unfortunately, it doesn't work, and the operation have erased my 60's ZIP....
Is someone could help me to find a solution?

Your computer will not recognize MPC60 samples.

You will need to use a conversion program to convert the samples.

Yes I know my computer can't recognize my 60's samples, but however I have to put them on the computer in order
to convert them with the software! I know softwares like RS-16X, but I must find a good way to put samples on the computer and use RS-16X to convert the .snd to .wav. That's my question.

or you could just record them from the mpc into the computer the same way you track in beats.

Yes Mr Debauch, I could do that, but it will be very long, if I record each sample
and re-chop them. Anyway, if I don't find a solution of transfer, I will choose this solution

Well what else can you really do though... the 60 isn't using .WAV files. Actually, there is a chance that a converter exists though... I have seen things that read akai formats however I dont know anything about those.

Look at the bright side though... recording from the 60 will get you that 60 sound... haha... no need for emulation on the maschine!

And Fobedafied, I know this software, but my question is: if I take a ZIP formatted in my 60, put samples on, put the ZIP in the USB ZIP driver to my computer, will my computer recognize the ZIP and the files on?
Because I've done that last monday, and the computer haven't recognise the disk, have corrupted it, and now I can't boot anymore my 60 ZIP in the mpc60... So i'd like to find a solution which works.

OH, I see what you mean... is there a version of omni flop that works for your machine? (or if your computer is over a decade old... then omni disk)

google omni flop and check the versions... it is free and it is sort of like a driver and app to get your machine to be able to use odd floppy formats (including the s900/s950)

you have to use the "3000 format" function in MPC EDITOR.



it is a special type of format which will "trick" the 60 and the pc into both being able to access the disk... something like that...



use MPC EDITOR to format, then use that disk to save and transfer...

that is why i specifically referred to a "transfer disk"... you need a disk onhand that you use only for transfers formatted in this way...

i have also noticed a bit of "glitchiness" when it comes to compatability of zip100 and zip250 disk and drives... its been awhile, but i thought it was just me and my luck to be honest...

just remember. the demo of MPC EDITOR is only good for 30 days... then you gotta fork up the $30...

I had a zip250 disk full of projects completely wiped when trying to save something one day.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that shit anymore.
