Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

I recently came across the original Akai MPC60 VHS training video from the 80s featuring Roger Linn.

The whole thing lasts 1 hour and is pretty boring stuff if you already know your way around an MPC. Just have a look at it for the pastel coloured 80s vibe.

You can view it here: http://dvdborn.blogspot.com/2011/05/akai-mpc60-original-training-video.html

Make sure to view Section 3A: Recording Sequences starting at 07:07:

At that point it becomes pretty hilarious when he introduces the keyboard player.

Why is Roger's screen so much bigger? It doesn't have that black boxing. WTF? Prototype?

I corresponded with Roger Linn last weekend and the guy is super nice. I asked him to fix a link he has on his MPC60 website so that it will point to my new website and he put a really nice "advertisement" for me up on the site - way more than I asked him to do. Check this out:

Scroll down to the MPC-SCSI interface. And he also put the same thing on another page. We traded emails about the Linn 9000, which I had back in 1987-1992 and he is such a nice, down-to-earth dude. Wish I still had the 9000. :x

nah that is just a zoom in that they did via video editing. they did the same thing on the s900 video manual... which by the way is hilarious! I for sure recommend checking that out.

Yes, I saw the zoom. But if you go to 2min10sec in the first video, you can see the screen on the 60. It is deinitely 10-15% larger.
