buyer beware?? mpc 3000 ebay

Hi Guys,

I've been looking at a 3000 or a 60 for a bit now and came across this add on ebay;

i asked him for a buy it now price which he came back with about $50 less than cost, and discounted shipping, but wanted to do the transaction on a paypal invoice.

The Paypal invoice came through yesterday and was all good, it referenced the add and said the machine will come as described in teh add (with ebay listing number).

However today i received a second invoice, addressed to a 'Jason' in LA, saying the MPC would cost 'X' amount of dollars, and would come as described in the listing, WITH THE SAME LISTING NUMBER!!!

About 2 minutes later I received a 'cancelled invoice' notification on the second (wrongly addressed) invoice.

I'm thinking he has arranged for someone else to do the payment over paypal (off ebay, with no user protection), and sent me the email destined for the other poor sucker...

I didn't send him off any money so I'm not too worried, but hopefully nobody gets scammed.


OR, am I being paranoid, and was it a legit mistake, I've emailed him about it and had no reply...

Also, the paypal invoice referenced a different Ebay shop name...

And he has great feedback..

jesus thats alot of money for a 15 year old mpc....

If it doesn't feel right - don't do it. And that price it high!

Word, glad I didn't commit to it, Even though it's probably 100 percent legit, it's not worth the risk to me. I want a LE anyway.
