allo allo,
seen mixed reports about the europe version of this stand (rumored to be worse made than the US version) - but after lots of googling I couldn't find anything in the UK at remotely the same second hand price as these so decided to give it a shot. thought you all might want some feedback, as I always look here first for that kind of info too.
picked up one for £55 today on gumtree (seen them go for similar price on ebay uk every month or so). I personally never buy this type of thing brand new - like a new rack price compared to second had is crazy for example.
overall..... very pleased, obviously this type of stand has a lil wobble, have yet to make beat while in the stand and see if it affects triggering the pads, but doubt it will - poorly made ikea table can have wobble too. mine did. if you've got some real solid table, stick with that if convenient.
having the mpc angled towards you is is great, better viewing position than on the desk I was using - as the 3000 is heavyish I get concerned the tilt bracket will get loose and the whole thing will swing forwards to its death, but am gonna just check if that need tightening every other day - even thought prob don't need to.
base was bigger than I thought, nice surprise (in internet pics it looks real small) - doesn't feel like it will tip over if the miss bumps into it, or while I'm wheeling around studio (I've NOT got carpet, not sure how that would effect it).
now I can move the mpc near my decks and s950 - so am a lot happier
before I was trailing wires across room.
I have it at lowest point, more stable, and at the right height for regular chair. if you need your mpc higher and above another piece in the studio, another stand might be better option. I personally don't like to stand to chop samples, like to take my time
previous owner put some padded tape on the parts that the MPC fits into, good addition - avoids scraping the mpc.
this fits the 3000 nicely, not sure what a 60 (either version) would be like on it - might be pushing it a bit, look up the sizes on internet first - is the 60 much heavier than 3000? again, if so this might not be for you.
all in all v usable - if you have MPC smaller than 3000, even more so. think I'll be using this thing for years.
guess the only concern is where the F do I put my zipp drive - thing becomes less movable if you have to trail cable to the drive thats sat on nearby cable - thinging about getting some kind of tray thign that can clamp to the stands main shaft - although I think I'd be better putting that cash towards a internal flash drive to solve prob and improve the MPC no end!!
