Internal Drum Synth on the 3000?

Recent convert here. Used Roland samplers my whole musical career, and just picked up a 3000 because a good buddy convinced me it was the right direction to expand in. I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS MACHINE YOU GUYS. i am ready to make life commitments.

now for my question...

i hear things about these internal drum sounds that it has (that is, i hear that they exist). but i don't have the original floppies that came with it. the section in the manual about using the "internal" drums involved loading a drum program (a set of drum samples, right?) from a floppy. so, am i SOL on the machine's "native" drums if i don't have the original discs?

ALSO thank you SO much to this forum... i have been lurking since a week ago when i got this machine, and have already gotten absolutely tons of help from y'all. i'm happy to be getting into a machine that has such a cool community.

well as you know, the mpc doesn't make any sound when turning it on... so they had to give you a disk with the machine so you could learn or get started or what ever... also so they could at least put one on display at the shop..

not sure how great those drums would have been though. You would be better off either way sampling your own personal customized drums... instead of settling with stock drums.

Now... recently a guy here on the forums posted a thread that contains the download of the stock CD that came with the 2000XL (which was released later than the 3000) ...

I had this disk and actually uploaded it back when I had it a few years ago... anyhow, the CD cover in the pic of that thread is the same disk I used to have.. but I did not download what the guy in the thread posted... if it is in fact the same as the one I used to have and nothing is missing it should contain the stuff from the mpc3000... my guess is it is the same as the 3000's stock disk(s)
