EZ403706J - Battery Lithium CR2032E
These batteries are in Walgreens, CVS, Target, Walmart, Radioshack, every store that sells watch batteries. it's almost the size of a U.S. quarter and it's a very common and easy to find universal battery.

cr2032, I bought a pack of 20 or 25 of those on ebay for like 2 bucks... I own so much stuff that takes those.. dreamcast vmu's take two of those at a time, the 3d0 takes one for the memory, same with the sega saturn... watches..

I have those also.It's also known as a regular ole motherboard battery. Most of us have seen this same shiny silver coin looking battery on motherboards.

every damn thing takes those... I think today, I own more stuff that takes those than AA batteries lol.. in the 90's everything took AAs..

Hi there,
I hope this will help/give ideas.
A customer of us had problems to change/find the correct vertical soldered CR2032E. The ones he found hadn't the same pin implementation so I made this small mod for his 3k to make things easier in the future :
So what we have :
You see you have to remove all the boards to access to this and then a quite precise soldering job waits for you. There are quite a lot of tiny tracks in this area of the mobo ... touchy.
Then I decided to remove the battery from here so the customer can change it himself without removing anything and use very common batteries CR2032.
I use a lot of these "braces" (it's the word google translate gave me ...^^ you can see some under the SCSI mod we also made), very useful.
And here is the small PCB with battery holder. Job done !
Not very smart, this costumer doesn't need me anymore now ....
