Just purchased an Mpc3000 today and I have a question about my drive options...I was planning on getting an external zip drive from mpcstuff but then I came to this group to do research and seen how people said they were having problems with them and so forth....my question is what is my best options besides the regular old floppy drive?

Is it possible I can buy a external compact flash card reader for my 3000?

or should I just stick with buying the SCSI zip drive kit from mpcstuff?

Btw this is my first time owning a 3000...I came from the 2000xl and the 1000

if going the zip drive route.....prolly better off buying a 2nd hand one on ebay or the likes....mpcstuff is really expensive...make sure its a scsi zip drive if you decide to cop one, as there are non scsi ones existing

I just checked ebay and the scsi zip drives ranged from $75-$100 compared to the one on mpcstuff for $95 ...that's not to much of a difference...

Is that the only route I can go other than the regular floppy drive already installed on the 3000?

I'm planning tracking down a zip drive as well. I ordered
The 3.5 OS and I think that gets rid of the file system limits. Is that correct?

Who knows when I'll get it but I hope it's soon. My MPC 3000 is running 3.03 so if anyone has some 3.11 roms they'd like to get rid of let me know!
