Hi,

I've read there is a ib-crt lcd compatibility list in the private mpc 3000 yahoo forum. Since is rohan is missing, new member requests are being denied. I couldn't find the lcd list anywhere else online, except for a few mentioned in some threads here, so I am wondering what other useful info is locked in the private forums.

I think it would be a service to this forum, and to the 3000 users without an account, if someone with the yahoo group membership would go through and repost some of the important data here.

I always got the impression that members of these Yahoo groups were sworn to absolute secrecy. At least thats the impression they give.

Not very proactive when it comes to sharing information, and you have to jump through hoops to become a member. Private groups for music technology on the Internet absolutely suck.

I'm a member over there (but don't tell anyone...or I'll cut you!) but I rarely go there...tumbleweeds.

I'll see what I can dig up for ya. :)

Yep...to be honest though, I don't remember seeing it there. There was an old list on a Sony site a long time ago, but that's since been removed. What I was going to do, was find someone here that has a compatible lcd, get the model number from them and then scourge ebay for one. Just a thought.

Maybe we need a thread solely for pics of lcd's set up along with model numbers? That'd be awesome. :D

The only reason that group is marked private is to keep away the spambots which have ruined every other open Yahoo group.

Most of the pertinent information in that group is several years old and has already made onto this forum or is available elsewhere with a quick Google search. There are a few threads here that have information about monitors, but those monitors are likely discontinued.

To the OP, if you are looking for a modern LCD, you will need a monitor that is fully backward compatible with the original VGA spec. The manufacturer of the monitor would have this data for you.

Thanks guys. I remember seeing a few threads with details so I'll try to compile as much info as I can and report back.

So activity in the yahoo group has since migrated here, good to know.

Here are some important lcd related links from this forum:

At first I was thinking it would be neat to have a 9" display, something like you might find used inside of a car, but I ended up keeping it simple and getting a cheap HP VS15 off of ebay.

Thanks.
