I formatted and partitioned some zip disk on my mpc 60 today when I loaded one up into my usb zip drive on my mac to save some .snd files the zip disk showed that it only had 25mb on it even though there wasn't anything on it . When i formatted the disk on the mpc 60 it asked if i would like to partiton the zip disk into four 25mb partitions a,b,c,d so i hit enter and thought that was it so were did i go wrong?

your computer can only see one partition. on the 3000 if you have the vaillixi OS, you can format a disk in a way that will make all partitions viewable, but i dont think the 60 has that feature.

for transfers from my mac, I use a formatted disk separate from any disks I use for saving beats to. I've had problems mounting disks on my mac, corrupting files etc. it may have something to do with files named larger than 8 characters on the mpc 60 but i have not confirmed this.

definitely not a good idea to mount any disk you use for saving beats to tho.. not worth the risk.

yes. a "transfer disk" is optimal.

mpcEDITOR used to have a pseudo format function that worked with the 60 like the 3000 Valixi format function... unfortunately, the feature was pulled from mpcEDITOR.

there is another way to create a disk image of this format, but i havent figured it out yet, and wont have time to do the knowledge for quite a while... :|
