just to get a wider array of sounds, I'll freak them to my liking with eq/filters etc.

I was wondering which format would be the best to get them in, MPC 60/60II, 3000, or .Wav

I was thinking if they were .wav I could use them in Fruityloops as well, and then throw them into the MPC editor to set up a kit for the 60.

and I also didn't know the difference in a kit for a 60 or 3000, I don't know if there is a difference in the way they open since I"ve yet to open either type file in my 60. Thanks.

From what you've said, I guess it really doesn't matter which format you get them in. Whatever saves you some steps will probably be the best format.
I use my files in WAV. I have a master library that is in WAV format. I think convert samples into various formats for various instruments.

Peace.

if I got it in the MPC format could I still convert them into wav's?

Yes. With apps like MPC Editor or "WAV to SND." (or maybe it's "SND to WAV.") Go to www.midicase.com to check the details.

Peace.

Hmm, you may have some trouble there. Those programs are pretty much for the "wav to snd" translation not vice versa (I'm talking about MPC Editor since "Wav to Snd" never worked for me).

But you could always just resample the sounds into your comp by using the stereo outputs on your MPC. You'll lose a little quality but it shouldn't be anything drastic that would render the sounds unusable. Plus the procedure shouldn't take that long. The most you'll have to do is edit the large wav file to get the sounds out individually.

Damn, forget what I said. You can just convert the MPC60/3000 format files in Cool Edit Pro to wav files. No resampling and no loss in quality.

Cool Edit Pro is crazy like that. Love that program.

I'd say wav. It's more universal. When you create a 3000 SND and or PGM in the MPC editor, the 3.10 60 will convet them to native 60. This takes some time, so once you are done, make sure you save the PGm and overwrite the sounds so it will load as fast as a native 60 file.

Also a note, I believe this is something that happens to all 3000 files in the 60, but it could be just the editor (I have yet to test this right) in 16 levels, when you choose pad 10 as the center pad, the top last 3 pads have the same tuning, it is like the system can only transpose them up so much when they are converted 3000 files.

Yeah, I noticed this problem too. I thought it was just me.
