just sample a bass note and 16 level it. Or get a few bass notes from different octaves and 16 level each separately.

On the 60 you gotta use eq before u sample the sounds, that´s what i did when i owned the 60. To get get the sample to repeat just press [program/sounds] then [2] and move cursor to the [Poly:POLY] field, tap the pad with the (bass)sound and change to [Poly:MONO]. I always use this for long samples, but its not as often for short samples, I use the ---Envel--- [Decay:XXX] instead.
el-- you seem to have a wealth of knowledge with respect to this machine. i appreciate your input, and would like to ask a few more questions...
1) Can the 60 filter for basslines?
2) If not, would would be ideal to use in conjunction that has filtering abilities.
3) What would you recommend in terms of a basic recording device. DJ Andreas says he has used a 4 track analog tascam. It's quite obvious that Im just starting out, and am trying to soak up as much info as I can.
4) Lastly, I've had trouble in the past saving a song/sequence that I've created. How do you do this? I mean, I've saved samples individually, but when I place them in a simple 2/4-bar sequence, I choose the option 'saves all songs and sequences' and it NEVER works. What am I doing wrong????

Thanks, What can I say, I love the 60.
1. No.
2. A rack sampler with filters midi's to your MPC, preferably with lots of memory to bolster the 60's slim 1.5Mb. S5000's are going pretty cheap, but any rack sampler will pretty much do.
3. A computer, but other than that, a 4 track tape or Digital would be cool at first, a mixer is very key to any recording setup. But a computer with a good soundcard is probably the best bet. But preferences vary.

M Audio ones are dope. If you have mad loot you can go for the RME cards which are arguably the best. I'd look for a card with 8 quarter inch line inputs. I have 4 inputs in a delta 66, but I wish I had 8.
