I am parted from my MPC3000 for sometime.

But I need to know the technical specifications from the internal battery.
Can anyone provide them? (Volt, Lithium or not, ...)

Does anyone know a good place in Europe where I can order one cheap? Assuming that it isn't something that should be ordered at Akai. But I guess it's a 'normal' battery, not an Akai specific part.

Does it have an internal battery? What's wrong with it?

I found the type of battery. It's a CR2032 - 3Volt

It's used to retain some system settings in the MPC3000 after the power is shut down.
I'm replacing mine just as a precaution because it is already 10 years old.

Make sure you get the right type with regard to rechargable etc. If it is a recharging battery you may not have to worry, but if you are going to replace it make sure it is a rechargable as non rechargables can blow up and spew all sorts of nasty acid (not the kind on brown paper that you shouldn't eat ;)

Anyhow, you probably know what you are doing, but just in case.

I obtained the battery specs from Akai Benelex. They still have them in stock.

The CR2032 is a non rechargable battery.

Cool, good to know!

and as an addon:

Chances are that the battery is directly soldered to the main PCB.
In that case you will have to purchase a BR2032.
