Converting stereo samples to mono in the MPC 3000?

(edit - have worked out below that i just need to know how to convert stereo to mono samples in the 3000)

sorry if this is a silly question but i'm just trying to track out of my mpc3000 for the first time and have just found that half my samples are unexpectedly in stereo (loaded from outside) meaning i have to assign them to pairs of individual outs - what i really want is to send each sample out of an individual track in mono regardless of whether its is originally in stereo or not. It seems like there must be a simple way to do this but i can't find it and i'm running out of time...anyone got a quick fix? many thanks in advance...

You may have to convert your sample to mono first to do this (it can be done in the 3k).

thanks for the reply! converting them would be fine...but now i can't find how to do that in the 3000...someone asked before on here and got no reply...anyone know? thanks in advance...manual is about as helpful as a broken leg as usual

OK peoples, i cracked this one ...and then i forgot again and it just took me HOURS to find out again... so here is the answer -
page 159 of the manual - creating and editing sounds - DELETE SOUND - DELETE LEFT SIDE (MAKE MONO) in the "RENAME, COPY, DELETE SOUND:" menu.

It's one of the better manuals out there, all you needed to do off the bat was read it. Got there in the end...

What is it with the inability to read manuals?

Do they even try, are they not able to read?

Unable to help themselves, need to be spoon fed?

So often, like in this thread, users will say that the manual is of no help, that they have already looked in the manual...you go to the manual yourself, and there it is, the answer they have spent the time asking here, and are waiting for an answer to, spelt out for them in the manual.

It is even easier these days with being able to search PDF manuals, you can often find what you need within a couple of minutes.

Get an MPC60

That is not converting a stereo sample to mono. That is simply deleting one of the channels. The end result *is* a mono file, but not a mix of L/R.
