MPC 3000 mute assign

I have a 2000xl and I was wondering if the 3000 is also limited to two assignable mute groups

Yup. Just like the 2kxl. Mono on the pad, and then you have two more assignable mutes.

With some additional limitations thrown in to make things interesting workflowise.
The 3k is a great machine but a lot of stuff people take for granted on newer MPs is missing.

no worries you´ll get used to it. the other good thing is, that you´ll chop your samples correctly to it´s lenght. this mute group thing that you got on the 2500 is nice, but not really necessary. and you save a lot of sampling time....

i second that if you had no pad cutoff at all you'd still be able to make it happen on any mpc. its just adjust sample length, easy.

The biggest difference is you have to make more variations of a chop so you have the different lengths instead of just being able to cut a chop short by re triggering it or you can just learn to use note-off.
