How do i acces all partitions of CF Card on PC? Valixi 3.5

Hello! i recently received my USB CF Reader so i can back upp all data, samples, pgms ,sequences on PC, i plugged it in and it recognized the card, but it only shows partition A as main disk. What do i do?? I have stored alot of stuff on B and C also.

Ive heard something that the PC may corrupt all the data if i dont do the process right, but cant find the thread. Im using valixi 3.5

You need to format your CF card as Hybrid partitions with Vailixi.

You then need to make sure that you don't name anything with more than 8 characters or your PC/Mac will immediately truncate anything over 8 chars.
Any additional files that subsequently have the same name after truncation are corrupted.
e.g. if you have three files named BD909-AD01, BD909-AD02, BD909-AD03, only one of them will survive as BD909-AD and the other two will be corrupted.

It's the price we pay for mega easy access to our MPC3000 files.

and turn off 'SCSI multi sector transfer mode'.


Plus - not all CF cards are created equal... by a long shot.
I've found Sandisk 1GB cards to be the most compatible.
Kingston 1GB Ultimate 100X works fine for me too in the 3000, but Sandisk CF cards are the only ones which allow me to transfer data from my Akai S1000 card reader to my MPC3000 card reader with ease.

and watch out for the fake Sandisk cards too.

Thanks for the reply. I already had alot of partitions on the card when i bought it but i think i have a fake one, because only the A partition is working good, all the others wont let me save big files etc, just sequences and some small samples. its a sandisk ultra 1gb
