Mpc 60 OS v3.1 Memory question

In Rogger Linn's site it says the software halves the sampling frequency to 20KHz and then the memory (1.5MB) is enough for 52 second of sampling am I right?
This can happen even with one recording?

The sample rate is only halved when you use the compression feature, it doesn't happen automatically.

The five second limit automatically goes when 3.10 is installed .

Two completely different benefits of installing 3.10.

Exactly, and like they've said it CAN be one recording or one sample that is 52 seconds long

The compression feature is available as a choise before I rec the sample or after in edit mode?

Try the compression on a copy of your sample, not the original. Just in case you don't like the outcome. You cant undo the effect.

Also I believe the compression will not work on samples that have been pitched down in the MPC, something to do with the way the samplerate is reduced (do correct me if this is wrong, its been a while).

The reduced samplerate is very close to the fixed samplerate of an SP1200.

That's true
SP's samplerate is 25KHz I think

yeah your samples have got to be at least 0 tune - also technically you can't do all 52 seconds with one sample because you would have to sample it and the normal rate first and then convert it - so this means two 26 second samples at the most - to answer your question about the gritty-ness, sometimes it does, but other times you can't even tell

not long at all - a lot quicker than loading

Sound compression is a feature introduced in V3.10, not Vailixi 3.50 as implied in that video.
