I'm trying to get the transpose command feature to work with a kick drum sample on drum track within a Sequence. I'm using the Akai 3.11 OS.
After I enter the Transpose amount and switch back to Drum. The track triggers a totally different sound that is assign in another pad bank.
The actions I've taken:
I have a kick drum track that I would like to apply the transpose changes too.
1. In Play/Record Mode Drum Track I've changed the Type:MIDI
2. I've selected Transpose command
3. Next I enter the transpose amount.
4. Then select Soft Key 1(Transpose permanent) and switch back to Drum.
5. The Results when I pressed play. The track triggers a totally different sound (Clap sample) that is assigned in another pad bank on that track instead of the Kick Drum.
Has any of you all been successful with changing the Drum track Type to Midi applying the Transpose changes and then switch back to Drum Track and hear the permanent change applied to the correct sound on sequenced track?
Here's the guidance from the Manual:
This function allows you to transpose a track up or down by a specified amount in real time. This function is only a temporary change—the sequence data are not altered unless SOFT KEY 1, <Transpose Permanent>, is pressed. Also, the MPC3000 does not transpose Drum tracks—only MIDI tracks can be transposed. (Though if you do want to transpose a Drum track, temporarily changing its type to MIDI on the Play/Record screen will allow you to transpose it. Make sure to change it back to DRUM when you’re done.)
