funky shadow on screen, what part needs replacing?

What part needs to get replaced when the mpc 3000 screen gets this funky shadow ?

back light or the whole display?

Is it the screen housing or the screen itself? To me it looks like it's just the plastic housing (in that case it shouldn't be a big deal), but i would ask the seller.
