MPC3kLE Ram issue

Hey guys. I need help with my MPC3000LE. I just received a pair of new 32mb rams that i bought on ebay. But when I start the machine it still says that it has 8mb of ram. I disconnected the original 8mb thats connected to the side when I first installed the new 32mb's. Then I tested to connect it again, and when I did it says I have 16mb of ram. It doesn't make sense... Any ideas?
Im running the vailixi OS. The original 8mb ram thats connected to the side is suppose to be disconnected when using vailixi right?

The RAM in the MPC 3000 can be upgraded to 32MB by using two 16MB non-parity 30-pin SIMMs.

Yes I'm aware of that. And thats what I use.

Can anyone confirm that the standard 8mb ram is not suppose to be connected when using ram upgrades and vailixi OS?

are the owc the ram he sent you?
you might have a faulty ram holder, reseat the ram.

or better yet, take 1 stick out and boot the mpc, it ok?

if so put it back in and take the other out ?

that one ok?

then put the 1st one in slot 2 etc

to find out if its a stick problem or the actual mpc.

whats really weird is the 8mb thing, should read 16 if only 1 stick is defective.

to rulke out your valixy pop in your old os and see how much your mpc reads?

and yes you take out the 8mb thats connected on the side when you upgrade to 32mb.

I received a new pair of Ram sticks from the seller and it now fully works. Problem solved
