Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

Hi,

I have a 909 and some other gear and basically I've got the 3000 to start the clock on the rest of the gear.

What I would like to do though is to record some harmony from my Juno 106 onto the MPC. I've got the 909 and the other gear in song mode switching up patterns automatically but not sure what the best way is to record some chords on the MPC whilst Song Mode is going.

To be honest I'm not quite sure what the best way is to record a synth that hasn't got an internal sequencer when my other pieces of gear have.

Any advice would be great, cheers.

Juno audio goes to your mixer/audio interface.

Juno midi goes to MPC, track type midi.

Juno key strokes will get recorded in mpc's sequencer as midi notes.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. You know if I set all of the other gear up with Song Mode though; would you approach adding chords as the rest of the track comes in whilst pressing the Rec button or would you do it a different way?

My triton sit parked in seq mode while mpc4k sequences the triton performance on 16 tracks/16 midi channels.

You, do whatever works for you.
