Manual Initialize and stop sampling?

Hi

Is there a way to start and stop the "Recording" of a sample instead of setting threshold and sampling time?

I Find it much easier for me to stop and start manually. Threshold at 0 is actually manual start, but what about end? do i have to either guess or waste time sampling more than i needed?
