any way to preview sounds on 3000?

im not sure of your question, but, the 3000 has no internal sounds that i know of... samples/sounds are loaded via disk into RAM...

I think he means preview before loading, the answer is no as far as I know.

Nah, don't sell it. Check out the MPC editor if you are on PC or PGM Maker if you are on Mac. You can make and export programs for the 3000 from wav or aiff files on your computer and just load them up. You can preview before or after loading and benefit from computer editing if you like that kind of thing.

yeah no way to hear before loading... sucks for things like sample cd's and shit when they are all named stuff u dont know..

but those samples suck anyways, sample your own shit then name it something you know and will recognize

thanks for the info guys. can i transfer over scsi from my computer? any ideas on a good scsi card for a pc? windows xp.

i dont think u can scsi transfer files to an mpc. U can with like the akai s2000 and 3000xl's. u would be better off with getting mpc program editor www.mpc2000xl.com and getting 2 zip drives one scsi for your mpc and one for the pc, usb or parallel. It makes transfering samples very easy this way. Use reycle or soundforge to edit and slice then goto the editor and export. gabe check your pms i have a question for you.

i use a jaz drive, i'm tring to find a internal jaz drive and scsi card for my computer so i can just take the disk out of one and put it in the other. i'm going to upgrade my editor soon, that thing is dope! thanks again! check your pm

but i would recommend getting zip drives. i have both and the jaz is very unreliable. U lose data and they dont load and get corrupted. Alot of other users here and on the akai dps forums i noticed have lots of problems with them, like them corrupting and not working right, like loading. I recently filled a 2 gig one and lost all the data. really sucked. they are more of a headache in the long run. zips are pretty cheap too on ebay. U can get them for under $30. and the disks are mad cheap on the bay too. Just be careful with that jaz and back them up with ur pc if u are planning on using them. also a good scsi card is an adaptec 2906 i have two and i love em.

yea zip is the way to go...

im not sure if you need to create disk partitions on zip disks for the 3000 as you do for the 60... but if so, you will need to use a seperate zip disk to transfer files, as the pc wont be able to recognize your partitions... again, im not sure if the 3000 has the same limitations on partitions as the 60...
