i was lookin in the paper and saw an s900 for sale, $395 in good condition. ive wanted to get an s900 or s950 to resample my drums through now that i dont have my 60II anymore. i called and got him to sell it to me for 200 - pretty average price i beleive (from ebay browsin), but i never see them locally so i saved shipping on a big metal beast

some 12 bit goodness back to my setup :)

I just saw a s900 in the paper selling for 175$, with disks n sh*t, pretty cool price.

did your old 60 have the 3.10?

You shouldn't have sold the 60, what did you sell it for and why?

yeah it was loaded.. 3.10 and all that

but my mpc 3000 is slick.. its got way more memory, and better backlight -so i never used both, when i wanted 12 bit i would resample the drums through then load em up on the 3k for best of both worlds.. but i sold the 60II cuz u can get good coin for 60's right now, and i can use an s900 no prob

175 is a real good price..
u should pick it up and flip it on ebay or whatever..
hype up the add with "Vintage" "Lo Fi" "Dj Premeire" and u could make a hundred bux and get to play with a new toy for a bit..

I'm getting a new toy tomorrow as well.

MPC4000, fully expanded.. an offer I simply couldn't resist. Feels like christmas now, can't wait to try it out. I won't sell my 60Mk1 though, I plan to use both. :D

F**k.. the 4000 is just awesome. Can't believe how quickly I've learnt the major functionality.

Akai should of added a better, quieter fan in the 4000.

the 3000 needs to sit on ice(gets HHHOOOOTTTTTT!!)

would b the shizzle if the 3k had multi - programs?

Thats y I use a Z4with it.

Yeah, a quieter fan would have been nice. It don't get hot at all though, so I guess it's a compromise.

ERKL,

Are you gonna be usin it to sample through, then record/load em into the 3K, or are you gonna control it from the 3K?

good price! u sell it yet ?

deadly mind - im gonna have it hooked up to my mixer, then the sounds i want 12 bit ill sample into the s900 then resample into the 3k.. that way i dont have to deal with the small sample time on the 900, or muck with more gear to control...

besides the upgradable sample time and scsi option, is there any differance between the sampling engine in the 900 vs the 950, anyone know ? ive heard a couple diff things (non linear vs linear sampling) and was wonderin if anyone could confirm..
