Hey all, I'm working on some floppy disks in the mpc editor program for my 2000, and I plan on possibly picking up a 3000 in the near future. Can i use the same floppy disks with the same programs on both machines, or do I need to make new ones for the 3k?

Yes you can use the same 3.5" floppies in both... but... using the MPC2000 files in a MPC3000 is a different story...
https://mpc3000.com/compatibility.htm

"MPC's compatibility with programs and sequences

The MPC2000 series will import any of the MPC3000 files without problem. Reason is that the MPC2000 is newer than the MPC3000, so it was made backwards compatible with all the previous MPC's (including the MPC60).

However, getting MPC2000 files into the MPC3000 is another story. The MPC3000 will load MPC2000 midi files, but it will not see the NV data or the mixer changes.The MPC2000 stores this as sysex data inside the sequence, while the MPC3000 stores this in proprietary format inside its own seq file. MPC2000 program files can be converted to be used with the MPC3000 and there is only one peice of software in the world that can do this. See MPCEditor. "

@Lamp ... Thanks for that.

@sing ... Keep in mind the 3000/LE accepts .snd files and not .wav files.
