Hookup MPC60 to S3000xl

Hi Peeps,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out hooking up an MPC60 to a S3000xl
Got the midi out 1 of the MPC60 going into the S3000xl, set the midi channel. But I can't seem to trigger to s3000xl.

Can anyone who uses this config pin point me into the right direction ?

A few things that come to my mind:
1. Is the TYPE of the track set to MIDI? (Don't know if this is necessary. On the MPC2000 it's not and MIDI data is send no matter if it is set to MIDI or DRUM but IDK about the 60)
2. Is the cable connect to the correct MIDI OUT (corresponding to the MIDI OUT setting of the track). Default setting is MIDI OUT A (I guess)
3. cable is ok? try another cable if you got one or try the cable you use with another device if you got one.

Midi out from MPC60 to the midi in on the s3000xl?
Does the s3000xl flash (forget which button) to indicate midi is coming in?
Sure the program on the s3000xl is set to the same midi channel that the mpc60 is playing?
