Been a while since this has been mentioned and I've never had to do this, but for those who have repaired a faulty R8 resistor, can you offer any tips or tricks?
I'm assuming I need to remove the entire main PCB, but is it possible to de-solder and re-solder in place?
Thanks!

The R8 resistor is a likely culprit when the screen does NOT display text, but the backlight lights up. I was lucky enough to obtain a virginal OG 3K that is showing signs of these symptoms. I was hoping one of the old school technicians could chime in with some time saving tips, or do VS. don't do's. No sweat tho.
I can offer the specs on the R8 resistor in hopes someone else with this problem can DIY if need be. They are 33 Ohm and 1/4 Watt. Available from Amazon in pkgs. of 10ea. on the cheap.
