What's up ya'll?

Just wanting a little guidance on this. What's the consensus on best functional backlight replacement to the mpc3000 these days? In terms of everything, getting rid of buzz noise, brightness, quality, etc. I know there's a few out there, but I need help narrowing down. Thanks.

In the states there is Kanamit_MPC out in Chicago is who I got my screen from when I lived in Atlanta.
You can hit him up on IG https://www.instagram.com/kanamit_mpc/?hl=en
or Twitter https://twitter.com/kanamit_mpc?lang=en

Both of these guys I would solely trust with my MPC to get work done or parts to fix it.

Thanks for those. Never knew about guy in Chicago.

Question, when you replaced your screen was it the whole screen or just the light? And did you install it yourself? I plan on doing the install myself.

I installed it myself and it was the whole LED screen.
Installing the LED screen allows for quiet operation because it alleviates using the 3000’s inverter board which causes the buzz/hum.

Got ya.

Any inter suggestions anyone? Am I over thinking this and can i simply use any backlight replacement found on eBay or some mpc website?

If you talking about just replacing backlight foil (stock pink and aftermarket white foil in the below picture), going that cheap route and replacing the foil wastes time, money and the screen still sucks. Been there, done that.

Don’t overthink it. Install the brightly lit upgraded LED screen like in the very bottom picture and be done with it. :smoker:

It's best to replace it with a new screen.

If you happen to be short on money, go around and collect beer cans and bottles as there are going to be crazy amounts out there due to the drinking going on right now.

Or sell your blood’s plasma for some extra coin.

Collecting beer cans or selling plasma. Lol. Both legit ideas actually.

My budget isn’t that tight though, I’ll just buy the replacement screen if y’all really think it’s the preferred way to go now. Just will have to pick a good vendor. Might holla at the guy in Chi Town. Anyone else doing these replacement screens? I’d like at least one more reference plz.

There's also a seller in the UK that has really nice displays, LuxMuzik - The screens are nicer than the Kanamit ones (not sh*tting on kanamit, you can all compare for yourself) as they are slightly larger but will cost a bit more.

All new age LCD screens of this type can be inverted.

Some may require the soldering of a wire to a designated pad to tell the LCD controller to invert, some may have a dip button to do so as well.

The point is, whether you buy from kanamit or LuxMuzik, You won't have to deal with the inverter or swapping out a EL Foil / Backlight ever again.
