Is there anything that you guys think that i should consider or be aware of? i asked the seller about the os and he said it was 3.11 from reading the threads i see this is a must i'm new to mpc (messed around on an mpc2000) but i'm a new jack and use logic (software) but wanted to get my drums to do more than just fall in line and i think i'll be a little bit more inspired creating beats with a classic piece of hardware!!
oh anyone use a software editor? with the 3000 i use a mac os 10.2 any help appreciated

If the MPC3000LE is the "real-AKAI-factory version" and not some third party modded and paint job trumped up box then be advised as follows:

a) the unit shipped standard with 3.11 in it's OS ROM set.
b) the SMPTE chip was standard in most territories on LE models.
c) the VGA output board is not a standard item.
d) the unit can be expanded to 32 meg of RAM despite what the manual says.

Look out for physical damage and the usual signs of abuse.

Search the list a bit harder for answers to you MAC "MPC Editor" question as it has been asked and answered many times over.

Welcome aboard.

Rohan.

"If the MPC3000LE is the "real-AKAI-factory version" and not some third party modded and paint job trumped up"

It may be possible to determine this from the serial number which has the month and year embedded in it. I am not aware of the original model and the LE overlapping at all.

Serial format:
myyccc-xxxxx

m - 1-C, month
yy - year
ccc - destination country code
xxxxx - unique ID number
