I had an MPC60 but it's been stolen. I was wondering if there's a way I can still use my disks on another MPC somehow like the X or LIVE2. I'm very old school but would like to know if I have to re-purchase the mpc60 or could i just get a new MPC and hook up a 3.5 disk drive and access my sounds and programs files?

Thank you, any information would be greatly appreciated.

NO way; no how will the old format work with the new MPC arch. If u want to stay old school, I suggest u get a MPC60 or 3000.

I believe my old roland MV had some level of MPC compatibility. Chicksys has some software converters. Call them or email them; they are responsive.

all MVs come with a floppy drive . . . .

Thanks, I kind of though I'll have to purchase another vintage MPC60 or 3000, but I'll probably get a Live 2 just to try new ish... Thank you

Best to move forward, unless you had a bunch of hot tracks sitting in that old arch.

The MV was a nice step between old school & new school. It has all the power/tools you need without overwhelming u. I only dumped mine b/c the HDD failed me 2x & it was not portable at all. I do NOT rec the new roland MV; The new MPC or octatrack are better bets in my opinion. I really dig the crossfader on the OCTA but that small screen is a deal killer for me. After having the VGA output on the roland MV, my eyes are spoiled ;-)

Thanks. I do have a lot of bangers, plus i have a J Dilla beat he sold me on an MPC3000 disk. so I might have to buy another MPC60 or 3000 just to extract that beat.
