MPC 60 over mpc 4k why or why not? A friend of mine is getting rid of his mpc 60. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 85621&rd=1 <--- mpc i may be purchasing. I read the manual for the mpc 60 o/s 3.1 and it was well written and i messed around w/ the mpc 60. even though the sampler is outdated i don't see how the mpc 4k sequencer is much better? What could u add functionality wise besides patterning (is this a word?) or layering more songs/samples etc? If you wouldn't mind on talking about some of the frivolous features of the mpc 4k i would be much obliged TY

does ne1 have the code for the 3.1 o/s besides roger linn?

I assume you mean the OS-ROM chipset containing the lastest operating system version ?

If so then you can purchase these items from Roger Linn Design or one of his re-sellers ( listed on his website ).

Oh ... code meaning source/os ...

No ... Roger owns it ... it's his. :-)

someone on the 60 user group at yahoo was selling the chips for 3.10e OS upgrade for $100, i think it was ROUTE66... Roger Linn sells it for $195, so $100 is a great deal... hurry, whoever it was selling them claimed to have only 10...

The big question on ones obtained from sources other than Roger and his authorised re-sellers is one of legality/ethics etc.

I'd hate to think that some person was selling illegal copies of the ROMS for some reduced price... :-(

On the flip side there was, like fobedafied said, a person selling some real sets after over ordering upgrades for some of his buddies/co-muso's or what ever...

Those would have been a good deal.

im pretty sure that it was ROUTE 66 selling them, and im sure they wouldnt do anything to spite Roger Linn...

i could be wrong though...

Agree ... Route66 are on the money, legit and all that.

Peace.
