good luck finding one of those drives. took me long enough...

they are definitely not common, but every now and then you may luck up on one. I used the one from my 2000XL when I replaced it with a zip drive.

yeah i had to look everywehre to find one, but i dont think i ever used my floppy after fixing it. i always used zips, but i just couldnt live with a busted drive on my mp

there is something to be said for keeping your gear up and running. You'll like the floppy if your zip ever fails while on a project.

There is a traveling computer show that comes to town every few weeks. I can usually find a jumper teac for $1 every time I go.

If I get really desperate, the flea market usually has one or two really, really old PC's or Amiga's that used Teacs. They are not hard to find at all.

Shopping online is a load of crap anyway. The best way to find anything good is to get out and hoof it.

thats true, but its hard to leave the house when you weigh over 500lbs and are uglier than elephant man. no, but i was looking for a new replacement, since i dont trust anything used. well, my 'used' mpc needed everything new other than the sound boards. shit i need a new 3k!

Just came across this thread. Bought an MPC 60 after using a 1K for a few years. My floppys just arrived in the post and when I try to format one I get an error code ff80. Says it can't see a disk.
Does it sound like I need a new drive?

If these are brand new disks and the drive isn't reading them, then it's likely you need a new drive.

I take offense, sir, at your suggestion that shopping online is a load of ****!
