60II vs 2KXL + S950

What I've heard is that the S950 and the 60/60II have the same sampler in them. I'm a relatively new MPC user. I bought my first (a 2KXL) in April '04, and I'm just now getting good at it. Lately I've grown to appreciate that grimey old sound of samplers like the SP1200 and MPC60II, compared to how sugar-coated and plasticky the 2kxl makes everything sound. But I am used to the sequencer on the 2KXL and would prefer not to switch that up unless it makes sense. So anyways I have a bunch of questions on the subject.

Is there a lot on the sequencer of the 2KXL that I would miss if I moved to the 60/60II?

What about sample portability between 60 or S950 and Windows PC?

Does the S950 sound identical to the 60/60II or is it worth giving each a good listen?

I'm pretty sure the S950 comes with 8 outs, right? does the 60/60II?

950 to my knowledge cannot be read by pc, but i think midi works, but takes for ever, dont quote me on this.

if you want old grime, midi your 950 to your xl, midi in from 950 to midi out of mpc.

midi out of keyboard to midi in on mpc.

so you can assign the notes on different keys, make a blank pgm file so the nothes on your mpc corresponds to those on your keyboard, and away you go.

it would be good, if you could have scsi interface on the 950, so you can store your samples and auto load them when you boot up, instead from floppy,

i guess a 950 is the way i'll go. now i'm just baffled over whether to get a 950 right away or get the 8-outs for my xl and continue to work with that for a while (since i got a lot of xl beats i haven't tracked yet), and then get a 950 when i have time to hit that learning curve. i need to ruminate on that question for a while. thanx for the info tho, that shit really helps.

8 outs is a must IMO.

Co-sign tht was the first thing i did b4 i got any other piece of gear, in a matter fact, to honestly speak, you dont need anything else. to make beats, once the mpc is maxxed out, as a bear minimum. the internal mixer function is proper.
but since you beats to track out spend the cash on the eight outs, leran the machine, then you can expand outwards. leave the 950 for now.
